Shopping around for a good, but not fancy C or D Cajun box

Here in Japan a few folks are interested in buying a good quality squeezebox.

Has anyone got a gently used C or D box available for sale, which is in tune?

Plain or fancy, I think the price limit is 1200-1400,or many be a hair more.

(I know the shipping will run about $100)

Thanks you!

For the amount of money you have to spend, if you can't find a decent used box, then maybe you can try a new Gabbanelli Cajun King with TAM reeds or a Weltmeister. The Gabbanelli is usually in stock and ships within a day. I had a Gab and liked it very much. Both are decent for about $1000 USD.

I do have a used Larry Miller accordion, key of "C".

It includes a wood case and shoulder strap.

Let me know if you'd be interested and I can post more info.

Hi Nick, of course I'd like to see the instrument. Thanks!

By the way, are all Made in Louisiana accordions blighted by the same generic cookie-cutter art-nouveau style endplates? It was a nice design 20 or 30 years ago, but gee, it would be nice to see some options!

Merci bien!

Agreed! Bryan LaFleur makes a "non-traditonal" style but, of course, that would be new.

Re: Shopping around for a good, but not fancy C or D Cajun box

Being a newcomer to the cajun accordion I'm really happy with my accordion made and played by Bryan!
It's extra special to me because Bryan's also my cousin! I can personally vouch for the quality too! After speaking to many players I was convinced not to settle for less than Cajun made quality!

No, there are different endplate designs. Just depends on the builder.
