Re: Lyrics request - Quo Faire - Geno Delafose - La Chanson Perdu cd

Quo faire, quo faire, quo faire pour toi jolie ?
Tu m’as quitté, tu m’as quitté, m’as quitté pour t’en aller
T’en aller, t’en aller, t’en aller avec un autre
Tu connais, tu connais, tu connais j’mérite pas ça, chère.

Do you want the following "Jolie Bassette" ?

Marc.

Re: Lyrics request - Quo Faire - Geno Delafose - La Chanson Perdu cd

No, thanks. I already sing a version of Jolie Bassette. I could figure out only parts of Quo Faire. Merci beaucoup again Marc.

Re: Lyrics request - Quo Faire - Geno Delafose - La Chanson Perdu cd

Very profound and deep. That Geno really knows how to make a man think.

Re: Lyrics request - Quo Faire - Geno Delafose - La Chanson Perdu cd

The music is not intended for profound thought. It intended to get folks dancing and having fun. At that, Geno is a huge success.

Re: Lyrics request - Quo Faire - Geno Delafose - La Chanson Perdu cd

That's true, the words are poor and repetitive. But that's all the value of the Cajun music, a lot of emotion with few words. The voice is another musical instrument.
But if you want to hear beautiful stories in Louisiana French, listen to Hadley Castille or Bruce Daigrepont, it's very different !!!!

And Zachary Richard is another.

trade 6 zacharys for 1 geno

it;s just me but i;d trade 6 zacharys for 1 geno

[[just care more about rhythm than french profundity..]

Re: if i wanted great lyrics

Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan in cajun french ?

Marc.

Re: if i wanted great lyrics

The best lyrics I've seen on a Cajun song is "Aux Natchitoches" by Bee Deshotel. From the "Les Haricots sont Pas Sale" cd.

Re: Lyrics request - Quo Faire - Geno Delafose - La Chanson Perdu cd

Doesn't that CD have all the lyrics in the liner notes? I thought it did. I will check my copy at home later and see.

Re: Lyrics request - Quo Faire - Geno Delafose - La Chanson Perdu cd

Yes, the lyrics are in the liner note but the words are a little bit different. Geno say "tu connais j'mérite pas ça", not "tu connais me dis pas ça".

I have all my cd's out of their cases and in a binder. So, I didn't know.

Lyrics are included in the liner notes.

The lyrics are included in the liner notes of this CD. I don't have time to copy them at this moment, but I will try to get to it later. In the meantime, check and see if you have the liner notes, in which case, you have had what you wanted all along! :)

Re: Lyrics are included in the liner notes.

If I'd had what I wanted all along, I'd be able to play triple row like you.
