huh
lemme think about that
i may have the wrong song...
you right
it;s this one
Hey Geno!
Geno Delafose | Format: MP3 Music
From the Album French Rockin' Boogie
try that with your F banjo :)
some of the licks actually cannot be played in 2nd position
they are too fast and involve alternating direction and buttons
try to play it in 2nd and you can;t get the alternating directions
very clever song
Yup, there it is on youtube- thats a killer tune.
I reckon 'my little dog' in F would tack onto it nicely- followed by a key change into G. Thats what I'm gonna try anyway.
Thanx for the inspiration.
Hey Geno! is actually played in second position. On a C accordion,it would be in G. Also, the chord progression is actually G,Am, G,Am, G,Am. This is a very common progression in Geno's music where he goes to the 2 chord instead of the 5 chord. He does this in "Everybody's Dancin'" and in "I'll never see her again" on the Chanson Perdue CD, he goes to the 2 major. In the key of C the progression is C,D,C,G,C.
Anyway, Hey Geno is illustrated in the video below.
Had a stab at 'Hey Geno!' this week and found out for myself it is in 2nd posistion. I reckon it has quite a strong F kind of turn to it. Looking forward to the Ganey demo, I got a lot from the 'horse with no shoes' one.
So the challenge still stills stands to find a 1 row zydeco tune written in F!
Geno plays "C'est pas la peine brailler" in the F position and The Creole Zydeco Farmers (I think)did "That ole mule called Shine."
Sometime this evening, I have to go in the studio to make a couple of videos for someone who requested them. I will do some short clips of these tunes, as well, just to illustrate them.
