All the automatic translators knows standard French but doesn't know Cajun French. The translation is always ...... curious.
Bec (litteraly beak), is a kiss on lips.

Man, how've I missed this thread. Those google translators are always funny, and have a problem with La French, but how in the world did it get "nose" from "bec"?

I too wonder why the translator picked such a rare meaning (bec d'aigle = aquiline or hook nose, from my dictionary). Maybe because it was the only meaning of "bec" having something to do with human beings contained in its memory (and since the first words are "Mom" and "Pap")

Among the various automatic translators, I think Google-translate and Microsoft do the best job (provided the text does not contain any metaphors and the structure is not too complicated).

I always liked this Beau Jocque song. I think it was clearly derived from "'Tit Galop", which is another favorite of mine.

Thanks for the transcription of the lyrics. I tried to figure it out a long time ago. I got about 65% but then I got stuck. I have a policy of not singing a song unless I know what the words really are, so I never added it to my repertoire. Now, I think I will slip it in.
