I've been playing more tunes(zydeco mostly) on my G box and singing in D. It's a bit high but I can really belt it out and project.

I was thinking that a low F would be great to sing in the key of C. Can the builders make them? Would they sound ok?

My low G has higher pitched bass/chord reeds and sounds great. My box was made by
Martin. Very cool sound.

I was told that reed makers do not make reeds lower than G, or higher than F. I have never confirmed that, but I ordered a high G set from Binci once, and they didn't make them. That being said, it would be possible to do it using a put together set, but sure seems to me it would be hard to play.

I've been using my low G quite a bit and pitching the vocals high to get some projection, but sometimes I'm pushing it and would love to have a box stepped down.
How did Willis' box sound? My low G has high pitched bass and chord that sounds terrific. Should be the same for a low F.
It's all about finding the best key to sing a song for me.

I have an extra Bb and two extra C boxes. Maybe I should get one re-keyed.
