Mardi Gras Song

Here is the Mardi Gras Song I learned long ago. Website #1.
Nothing fancy, just the melody line with guitar.
It sounds more like a western movie soundtrack than a danceable Cajun song ..
This version is on an Arhoolie record called Folksongs of the Louisiana Acadians.

Re: Mardi Gras Song

Your western movie analogy is on the mark. I hear Shades of Ghost Riders in the Sky. Several of the old-timers did it that way.

Re: Mardi Gras Song

whoo... man.. that's a different take for sure. It kinda tugs at ya. Very very nice!!!

Re: Mardi Gras Song

I like it! Used to play Ghost riders on harmonica in a skiffle band and always remember the tune for its atmosphere, a really good context for mardi gras song. You've inspired me on this one.

Re: Mardi Gras Song

So.. Peer.. The video says that it's in Am on a C accordion. What makes it Am?? This is from a guy who has to count the buttons to find a G or D note. No music background.

I do know that the C accordion is all major notes.
