Canshould I add a strap to old Hohner 114?

Hi - me again. You folks were so helpful getting my bass spoon issue squared away, I am back with another question...

My right thumb gets tired easily (I know I still need to 'build it up' a bit, I have not had much time to practice lately).

Would it help to add a strap to the Hohner? I know I would need to also put on some anchors, it does not have any. Is this something I should do? Any caveats, tips, recommendations foragainst?

Just a thought. I would also LOVE to stand up and play, a strap would enable me to do this.

Or maybe put on an other thumb strap first?
I never liked the original thumb strap on the 114. My thumb gad a hard time as well; I guess that is normal.
So a accordion builder (Karel van der Leeuw) put a free pivoting thumb strap on mine, and that worked fine.
Because a 114 is very light, you don't get much stability playing standing up, but of course you can always attach a shoulder strap. I have one, but hardly ever used it.
My strap looks like this:

I mean my thumb strap of course.
