Re: 99 Year Waltz slow version

Thanks Jude! Good stuff.
When I have time I'm going to study your version.

Re: 99 Year Waltz slow version

Hot dog! Thx, Jude

Re: 99 Year Waltz slow version

This is what is so depressing to me. I cannot figure those licks out. i see them and I hear them but I cannot find them. It makes me want to put the accordions away again. It has been my frustration for years. If I could sit down face-to-face with someone who can play I could get it but on the screen it's like trying to understand Urdu. Really, really frustrating...

Re: 99 Year Waltz slow version

Tom, try this: download with YT downloader, and play it on WMP half speed.
As this is already a slow version, you may see what is actually happening.
Try also to figure out the rhythm patterns and not only the melody.
For instance:in this version there is a lot of triplet notes, i.e. three notes in one beat (instead of one or two) which make it more interesting.
Chris demonstrates this very well in his Lovebridge Waltz lesson.

Re: 99 Year Waltz slow version

I've tried that but no use. It's the triplets. I can play the accordion fine, most people think I'm hot on it. I just cannot get the Cajun thing. It makes me want to put the thing away and go back to guitar again. Or join a Polka band... -L-
