My wife and I were thinking of going to Quebec this summer, but we hate to go anywhere and just be gawking tourist, so we usually look for something to go to like a festival, especially if the attendees are mainly locals.
Came upon this 3 day combo horse-show, rodeo, dancing, music, eating and drinking local thing in the little village of Princeville, about halfway between Trois-Rivieres and Quebec City.
The cool thing is the festival's website has online streaming radio from a local Country station where they play a whole lot of C & W in French, some Cajun, and it's on 24-7.
JB you can try this. The Carrefour Mondial de l'accordeon in Montmagny, Quebec. Beginning of Sept. Several days of concerts and Festivities with many local accordion builders exhibiting their accordions. This is a very popular festival so book rooms far in advance. You should be able to get all the information you need to go on Bing or Google.
On a scale of 1 to 10 this festival and series of concerts is a 10.
