Re: lyrics to Boozoo's Bernadette....David Sousa or Marc?
Hi AJ. I've this song "black gal" by Boozoo Chavis and Clifton Chenier, these lyrics are in English, but it's not my maternal language. Difficult for me. I'm really sorry !!
Re: lyrics to Boozoo's Bernadette....David Sousa or Marc?
Thats fine Marc, I'll look for the Clifton version- might be clearer. Was'nt sure if it was all in english or not, Boozoo's accent I guess. You've cleared that one up for me anyway.
Yeah Marc. I get it. It's about dancing and enjoying the great rhythms in Zydeco (and other genres of music too). I like the simplicity of Boozoo's music.
One of the main reasons I took up playing Cajun accordion was so I could make some music like Boozoo. Still one of my all time favorites.
I also like his simplicity.
I remember reading a review of Boozoo, but the reviewer didn't like his simplicity that much. He actually said that Boozoo's music had "excessive minimalism"! Kinda funny way to say it.
