So is the "s" that he puts between "moi" and "a" just to avoid a glottal stop, or saying those two "ah" sounds consecutively, that kind of thing?

Moi = me. Mois = month
The correct spelling is "avec moi à la maison".
French people pronounce "à la maison". Cajuns often pronounces "(z)à la maison".
Exemple : j'ai été (z)au bal
