Lady CA players

Why are there so few female CA musicians?
Is it such hard work to squeeze a Cajun box?
Or is it not ladylike to pump out twosteps and waltzes?
And why do they never stay on this forum? Are we too rude, macho or whatever??
Questions, questions!

Re: Lady CA players

I don't know the answers.

But, cajunjoe and Mr Guy were needlessly rude to Christa and ran her off. WTF? Maybe that is part of the problem.

Re: Lady CA players

If we continue that way, there's a big chance that Lady Cajun Accordion Player are becoming Feminist Cajun Accordion Player and is that what we want gentlemen ?

Please ladies , join us we can be cosy too

Re: Lady CA players

No, It isn't the way they look. That's silly.

Re: Lady CA players

Women do not gravitate to certain instruments. Trumpet, sax, and trombone don't get much play from the femmes. I can only name 8 ladies playing Cajun accordion, though there are surely more.

It probably has to do with "how they look" playing the instrument. Vanity is often the guiding force.
