MardiGras Song

Finally figured out a way to play along with the Balfa Brothers on their version of Mardi Gras Dance, album 'Balfa Brothers Play Traditional Cajun Music'. .
This was not my idea. Belongs to Robin Howell, our band's fiddler.
He suggested that since Dewey was playing the song on a tuned-down fiddle, just tune your entire guitar down a whole step as well.
That way you can just play the Am-C-E-Am-C-E like you would on a standard-tuned guitar, and not have to make any crazy barre B or Bm chords, especially hard for somebody like me who has little short fat fingers.
I took old guitar #3, tuned it down completely, and now can play along with Dewey.

Re: MardiGras Song

If you are referring to the Balfa Brothers "fiddle version" of this song, It is not in a minor key, and I am pretty sure that the fiddle isn't tuned down, either. The fiddle version is in G major, and they chords are G, Bb and C, then back to G. If you are not comfortable with barre chords, the easiest way to do it is to capo at the 3rd fret and play E, G and A, then back to E.

Re: MardiGras Song

Apologies. I realized too late that I had a mistake and couldn't edit it. The C should be a D7, (G, Bb, D7) and the A should be a B7 (E, G, B7).
