Question for WF

What do you have on Pierre Joseph Landry? He is my direct line grandfather (minus a bunch) and I've got the family history. I'm always looking to add to that.

The Landry around New Orleans and the Carters around Houma are my kin.

Re: Question for WF

Is this the famous wood carver from France? Other than that, I'm not familiar with the name.

If this is the same guy, then he's mentioned in several books:
Old Families of Louisiana By Stanley C. Arthur
Early American Wood Carving By Erwin Ottomar Christensen
The New Encyclopedia of Southern Culture: Volume 23: Folk Art edited by Carol Crown
Plantation Life on the Mississippi By William Edwards Clement
Biographical and Historical Memoirs of Louisiana: Embracing an Authentic and ... By Goodspeed Publishing Co
The Louisiana Field Guide: Understanding Life in the Pelican State edited by Ryan Orgera
Louisiana; a Guide to the State

Here's some of that guys' work in the Cabildo:
