CAJUN ACCORDION DISCUSSION GROUP
With Balfa Camp and all the other festivals happening in April, I'm not hopeful to get much response, but here it is. The Eunice 2-step is a must have for the jam repertoir and is one of those that you just can't sit still while listening. Such a great rhythm. Once again.. Brett Thibideaux to the rescue with a primer for the song. And a recording of Amede Ardoin I really like this version by Horace Trahan. So relaxed... This is a great one with the lead for Beausoleil who I can't name because this sorry forum software insists that is spam. Some would say that this song, as with many standards, is over done. Thing is that there is a reason... It's just awesome!! Here we go. I'm definitely gonna learn and post this one this month. John in Oregon.
Anyone got a clue as to what key he is playing? It doesn't seem to be Bb, C, or D. John in Oregon
It's a G accordion. Key of D?
Thanks Ned. I finally figured it last night that it was on a G accordion. I really like the B-part that he does. Got a cool loping feel to it. John in Oregon
Is is slightly wet tuned??? IDK...Something about is sounds a little different
It's probably wet, but the big difference in sound is from the internal mic.
I would have thought it was very wet tuned, but I'll defer to the superior expertise of Bryan. Whatever... I love that version. I can only imagine it would have folks hitting the floor dancing. Man... this one is a particular challenge. I can't slow down the video and play along since it appears that it's on a G accordion in D. John in Oregon
I think it is wet tuned, but that internal mic still gives a very distinctive sound. Very zydecoish
The Amede version will always be my favorite and the one to used for inspiration in this video I had recorded several years ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUeqO8pGZWQ
Awww right!!! Bryan steps up.. So... lets hear how it sounds now!! Wife is oh so tired of hearing this over and over, but I'm gonna nail it down. John in Oregon
