Pointe Noir Accordion for sale

Hi Everyone,

I will be offering my Pointe Noir accordion for sale and would appreciate any information you can give me. I have noticed on the forum that Pointe Noir accordions are now much sought-after, and fetch quite a lot of money, after the death of Dick Richards. Is that still the case? Can anyone tell me what it is worth?

My accordion was made by Dick in 1991, commissioned by a UK player, Pete Turner of the Gumbo Flyers. Sadly, Pete died in 2002 after which it was stored for ten years. I acquired the accordion in 2012. I live in France and there are unfortunately no Cajun/Zydeco musicians locally so I have not persevered with learning the instrument seriously. I play piano and piano accordion in trad folk styles which is enough to keep me busy.

It has reached the point that I want to find a new home for the Pointe Noir as I feel it deserves to be played, enjoyed and heard again. Maybe it will find its way back home to Louisiana?

I can post a pic when I figure out how to? Can anyone explain this procedure for me.

The accordion is C/G, in excellent condition, in tune and air tight. It comes with original documentation, a custom hard case, a soft case and new straps.

There is some slight repair to the lower side of the bellows but the chrome corners are all present. A Shure condenser mic was once fitted but this has been removed but included in the sale. The 1/4in jack socket therefore requires a dummy plug to be inserted to make an airtight seal.

Please feel free to ask any questions. I will probably put the accordion on Ebay if I do not get any serious offers meanwhile.

I have had a quote for €249 for TNT to collect the accordion from France and deliver to Louisiana (or elsewhere in Southern US) by express courier. I can probably get a cheaper quote if sent via the UK?

I'll look forward to hearing your information or interest.

Adam

Nout, are you listening?

Re: Pointe Noir Accordion for sale

Hello my name is Dianna Richard, the Pointe Noir accordion that your selling was built by my father Dick Richard. I currently have 2 virgin (never been played) Pointe Noir accordions and was wondering what you are asking for this one. I may be interested in getting another one for another grandchild of mine.
Thank you very much.
