Newbie: introducing myself

Hi All,

I name Christophe and live in France,
became Cajun music listener a few months ago
and found a second hand button box about two months ago
and since then, try to learn this strange thing ...........

You don't know how much you all fine players here have been helpful,
I really enjoy reading every advice, or video uploaded here and there
Thanks to all , really !!!

At this time the only thing easy to me to understand are the lyrics but I sing like a sick duck !

Here are my first tries: I can't play a whole tune , rythm is not consistent,
tempo is not good, but with your help it's really a lot of fun

friendly yours from France,

Christophe

Re: Newbie: introducing myself

Christophe!

You nailed it! This is really good work for a beginning player. For example, here's where I was after 12 weeks of grinding on "The Back Door," eventually progressing to "Johnny Can't Dance." The bass side was simply too daunting, so I avoided it altogether.

Re: Newbie: introducing myself

Welcome, Christophe, bienvenue!
If that's the result of only a few months of practising, it sounds really promising!
Félicitations! Also avec that little box you bought.
It really looks and sounds very nice!
Bonne chance!

Re: Newbie: introducing myself

Hi All, Thanks a lot for your kind words !

Re: Newbie: introducing myself

Welcome Christophe.
I agree with the others, it's very good.
For Cajun it's sometimes better to sound like a sick duck than sound like Paverotti :-)when singing so there's hope.

Re: Newbie: introducing myself

Thanks a lot Meloderon,
but be careful,
being so kind friendly and polite may incite me to post some more ;-)
....
too late it's done
(eunice two step song of the month)

Friendly yours,

christophe
