New to fourms

Hello all,

I am from Scott, Louisiana. Most of my family plays or did play Cajun music for a living, so it's nice to see this kind of community growing around one of the most influential instruments to our culture. I have been playing the accordion for about 4 years now. I'd love to post videos of my playing to get some feedback and tips for improvement. Anywho, glad to be part of the community and I look forward to sharing and receiving nice words of wisdom...

Re: New to fourms

Welcome Darth.
You live in the right part of the world for everything that has to do with Cajun or related things.
I suppose you're a regular visitor of the jams at the Begnaud House which is at Scott. Every Friday :-)
And there are much more in the surrounding cities :-)

Re: New to fourms

we are a few beginners here freshly arrived,
and we will learn from you with pleasure I 'm sure

Re: New to fourms

Its funny you say that. I have actually never attended an organized jam outside of playing with my friends and family. I have heard tale of these jam sessions, but my free time has never managed to land itself in sync with the jams. Hopefully that'll change at some point in my life...

Re: New to fourms

Darth you must attend the session at vermillionville off surrey. I live in Maurice. I went last week. There won't be one sat this week because July 4th. Next sat 1-3 pm. Amazing amazing event. Cheryl Cormier goes every sat. She's the accordion queen if you don't already know that. I am just getting started with accordion. Haven't purchased one yet. You can email me directly if you want videos of last weeks session. Chauvin.corey@yahoo.com
