Re: Bass side.

Play simple melodies(waltzes and two-step) like children songs and play along with the bass-side. After some practice you do it automaticly when you play, but it can take some time.

You're not the first one who ask about this, so you can search the forum for more tips

Yea that's what I'm doing. I knew there would be pot holes in the learning curve. I have a pretty hectic career. So i only get to practice an hour or so a day. But I enjoy playing. That's all that matters to me.

Bass side is awkward to learn. It took me 6 months to gain independence, and I'm still working to improve. Steve Riley calls it "your own personal rhythm section."

The better the bass side, the better you'll play the melody.
