Some Help for "Ol' Time Swing" ?

Hi all,
this month I have a lot of fun butchering "Ol' Time Swing" in a very basic way.
May I beg your pardon Octa !!!

The goal was to squeeze the basses,
and you' ll see that I can't keep them regularly consistent .
But when it's time to record something,
"fumbling fingers camera syndrome" came :-))

Anyway here are some tries, criticism and advices welcomed

Cheers,

Christophe

Re: Some Help for "Ol' Time Swing" ?

Apart from some rhythmic irregularities here and there, it sounds great!
I love that in-out pumping sound of the basses. You do that quite well!
This is one of the charms of Cajun blues. It seems to come out more clearly in blues than in waltzes or two-steps. That's one of the reasons why I love it!
Great box too. Seems you're on the right track. Octa would be proud of you!

Advice: try practicing with some rhythm device. It can be a pain in the neck at the start, but later it becomes fun! You can use a keyboard with an automatic accompaniment if you have one. Otherwise a metronome or drum computer. Or record your own backing on guitar.

Hi Peer,

thanks for your kind words,

"Great box too." it's a second hand Eric Martin (French Builder)

I tried a metronome a few times but didn't know the tune
well enough to concentrate on the rythm track.

Yes I promise to try the rythmic device thing again :-))

Cheers
Christophe
