Probably for Marc

I get 95% of the lyrics but can someone write out all of the lyrics for Joe Bonsall's Cajun version of Bad Leroy Brown?

Thanks
Josh

Re: Probably for Marc

Here is that I understand

Mauvais batailleur Leroy Brown,

Leroy aimait gambler,
Il aimait des chemises barrées,
Il aimait mettre sa bague diamant
Dessus le nez de tout quelqu'un.

Il avait un costume colonel(??)
Et un Eldorado même,
Avec pistolet dans sa poche pour jouer
Et un rasoir dans son soulier.

Mauvais batailleur Leroy Brown,

Leroy a joué ….(??)
Et dans un coin de la barrière
Avec une chère 'tite fille
He know elle était mignonne.

Il a passé ses yeux dessus,
Et le trouble avait commencé,
Et Leroy a pris sa leçon
Depuis la femme avait un bougre jaloux.

Le bougre a commencé à se battre,
Ils ont allés dessus le plancher,
Leroy semblait comme un vieux ... (??)
Avec le cou cassé.

Mauvais batailleur Leroy Brown,

Re: Probably for Marc

Thanks Marc.

Re: Probably for Marc

I can't help a lot, but the "costume colonel" is "custom continental"

I also think on the last line of first verse it's "...un boug' que ça appele Leroy Brown"

Re: Probably for Marc

Hi Bryan !

Exact for 'un boug' que ça appelle Leroy Brown". I confuses with a famous french version who says "ce garçon nommé Leroy Brown".

Costume or custom, I dont know.
Continental is in the english version, but in this version I hear 3 syllables, not 4.

Marc.

Re: Probably for Marc

Re: Probably for Marc

The English lyrics are :

He got a custum Continental
He got an Eldorado too
He got a 32 gun in his pockt full a fun
He got a razor in his shoe

The Cajun French translation is very literal

Marc
