Bryan and JB covered this one back in 2014, but I'd like to work up a version as a tribute to Ed Gary who recently passed and that was one of his signatures he used to play up here.
The meaning of this is basically
Oh, how am I going to go on, I'm alone, you left me, what am I going to do.
Oh, I want you back, ....something about going to the B.O. club for a good time...?
B.O Plenty and Sparkle Plenty were two characters in the early Dick Tracy comic strip. What there connection to Cajun music is, I don't know. I always assumed there was a club somewhere in Louisiana named B.O. Sparkle.
That's interesting trivia about Dick Tracy! I always thought B.O. stood for the common family name Billeaud, which is pronounced B.O., but I like this Dick Tracy connection better!
I remember that place. Right by the Rainbow Bridge in Bridge City, TX. In the 50s, the original place burned down and Tiny Richardson rebuilt it as the Sparkle Paradise. Alot of famous people played there. I think Richardson was going to rebuild it after Rita but the city wanted to demolish it.
