Re: Lyrics Check, B.O. Sparkle Waltz

AWESOME, thanks, Bryan!

Re: Lyrics Check, B.O. Sparkle Waltz

What it means to "B.O. Sparkle" ?

Marc.

B.O. Sparkle

B.O Plenty and Sparkle Plenty were two characters in the early Dick Tracy comic strip. What there connection to Cajun music is, I don't know. I always assumed there was a club somewhere in Louisiana named B.O. Sparkle.

Re: B.O. Sparkle

That's interesting trivia about Dick Tracy! I always thought B.O. stood for the common family name Billeaud, which is pronounced B.O., but I like this Dick Tracy connection better!

Re: B.O. Sparkle

According to http://www.texasmonthly.com/travel/music-clubs/

It is a club in Bridge City, Texas that burned down in the 1950's but was rebuilt and renamed the "Sparkle Paradise"

Re: B.O. Sparkle

I remember that place. Right by the Rainbow Bridge in Bridge City, TX. In the 50s, the original place burned down and Tiny Richardson rebuilt it as the Sparkle Paradise. Alot of famous people played there. I think Richardson was going to rebuild it after Rita but the city wanted to demolish it.

Re: Lyrics Check, B.O. Sparkle Waltz

Oh, oui, me rejoindre Chez B.O.,
Oh, pour un bon temps, bébé.

Oh, how am I going to handle this, baby,
Oh, I'm by myself, little girl,
Oh, you're leaving me to go away,
Oh, how am I going to handle this, baby.

Oh, well, I'd like to, baby,
Oh, well, come to you, baby,
Oh, yes, join me at B.O.'s place,
Oh, for a good time, baby.
