BRINGING AMEDE BACK

On March 11, 2018 4:00 Pm, there will be the dedication of a forged steel statue of accordionist Amede Ardoin at the St Landry Parish Visitor Center in Opelousas, La. There will be a candlelit remembrance vigil, a Sunday afternoon house dance, presentation of songs done my Amede Ardoin, etc, etc. All for free. If I could go, this is one event that I'd want to be a part of. It's history in the making and if you went, you could say you were there when that statue was erected. I'm sure the Ardoin Family, among others will be there, and that would bring some accordion players to the table. The link to the announcement is provided below the second video. When the website loads, scroll down for the article.
