We are helping my son look for a Cajun Accordion

We are helping my son look for a Cajun Accordion

If anybody knows of something in the $600 and below range that is a good deal, pleae let us know. Links or phone numbers would be appreciated.

What do you recommend for a new accordion in that price range?

Thanks

Re: We are helping my son look for a Cajun Accordion

Or used.
It looks like we need to up our spending limit.

Let me know what you have or know of and how much we will have to spend.

Re: We are helping my son look for a Cajun Accordion

In this price range the Hohner HA-114 is the only serious option.
They are not made anymore, but they're out there used for 200-500 usd depending on condition etc.
Solid, sounds good, feather light, small and plain fun to play.

Re: We are helping my son look for a Cajun Accordion

That's what we are looking for.

Marc Savoy said John Allen has a couple German made to sell. We've left messages, but have not heard back yet

Re: We are helping my son look for a Cajun Accordion

You should take a look at this Facebook group:

Louisiana Cajun Accordions For Sale

https://www.facebook.com/groups/799107996851237/

There's a Gabbanelli on there for $600

Bon chance!

Re: We are helping my son look for a Cajun Accordion

Thank you much.

I will look for it

I followed the link and I am still pending as a member. Apparently I have been there before.

Could somebody link me to the sellers Facebook page so I can send him a PM?

Re: We are helping my son look for a Cajun Accordion

Try this:

https://www.facebook.com/ZydecoBlazer?fref=gs&hc_ref=ARQ4DNNhWrnBeGPcATgNP3424y9dngI2kv-2MDevMUvbOAtbORz_nRumKD12IFJz9ec&dti=799107996851237&hc_location=group

If that doesn't work, search for Guyland Leday.

I don't understand why they made it a closed group.

Re: We are helping my son look for a Cajun Accordion

Used HA114s pop up pretty often on forum.melodeon.net, like this one

Only thing is that it's mostly England, so you have have deal with international shipping, and possibly customs duties, assuming the seller is even willing to ship internationally.

I have tried a Hohner Cajun IV and it felt nice to play – they just sound really quiet and dull, so I knew I personally wouldn't be motivated to practice on one. Those pop up for around $600 on ebay. I wouldn't pay any more for one. If you could get a Gabbanelli for that price, it would definitely be better.

Re: We are helping my son look for a Cajun Accordion

Here's another HA114 for $600, restored + video demonstration so it's not a crapshoot on the quality, had thought of buying this one myself

Re: We are helping my son look for a Cajun Accordion

David - Isn't that Gabbanelli in Bb? Probably not the best choice for a beginner unless he's planning to focus almost exclusively on Zydeco.

Re: We are helping my son look for a Cajun Accordion

I hope the Gabbanelli works out. We bought it.

Re: We are helping my son look for a Cajun Accordion

Kewl!

Re: We are helping my son look for a Cajun Accordion

I also accidentally won this Hohner on EBay.

I bid on it early and thought I only bid $130 or so.

I offered the seller $35 to keep it. I have not heard back from him yet.

If we can not work something out. I will have it next week sometime.

Does anybody have any idea what it is? Or what it is worth? Or a good place to sell it?

It does not say anything about what model it is.

I thought it said Made in Germany in the original listing. But I do not see that now.

Unless Josh would decide he likes it - if we get it - it will be for sale someplace.

Re: We are helping my son look for a Cajun Accordion

My son sent the money to him. We never heard from him again.

Hopefully an accordion shows up or my son gets his money back by filing a dispute

Re: We are helping my son look for a Cajun Accordion

Well, the seller is somewhat of a known personage who hopefully would not want to publicly dishonor himself.

Re: We are helping my son look for a Cajun Accordion

Yep. Things happen. I'm not sure what's up.

There have been no recent posts to his Facebook. His voicemail seems to be full.

Hope he is well.

I had 2 incidents where people actually died to cheat me out of stuff.

One guy had my battery charger and they sold it at his estate sale. Friend of mine said, "Your battery charger sold pretty good." I was actually planning to go to that sale, but missed it for some reason.

I'd have thought his family would have offered to return it before the sale. It had my name on it.

I bought my saw blades at another guys estate sale. I didn't really need them anymore by then, but they had my name on them, so I bought them back
