Well, I think that you are very lucky to know how to speak French at all. I can sing fluently in Cajun French and I can understand and pick up a few words every now and then. Ask me to speak French, no thank you!

Hi, I am a french guy currently learning accordion and violin. I searched the web to find some cajun tunes and found this interesting forum.
I know from my poor attemps in trying to decode songs from eastern europe that accurate transcriptions can be like treasures for traditional music enthusiasts, so I made some little corrections to Josh's version wich is already great. Some words are hard to understand with the violin and the guitar over it.
I mainly used local french spelling for the changes, this may differ from cajun typical way of speaking but should help a lot for translation.

I didn't find the exact same version by someone else to compare and correct, but I noticed a longer version with more complicated lyrics (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZqsWUnM_8vE) that I used to better understand one sentence.
