It's probably not just in Evangeline parish, but I'm not sure how widespread that a galette is a crude word for womens genitals. Just as, apparently, caouenne in some areas. Amanda Lafleur has a web site that discusses some of this kind of stuff, but I cant remember if this is on it. It could be quite comical and embarassing I suppose.
