Re: Chere Alice

Hey Ryan! How's the family since the hurricane?

You must study Lawrence Walker's version first...I am sure that is can be found on various collections and even a couple of Lawrence Walker CD available from Floyd's Records. Then you might want to listen to Joel Sonnier's version that was on the Cajun Life CD. That song has been recorded by practically every band since then.

Re: Re: Chere Alice

Joel Sonnier does a killer vocal on his version.

I also recommend Octa Clark's version at http://www.arhoolie.com/titles/9018.shtml

Re: Re: Chere Alice

Hey Chris....The family's do well. Everyone got real lucky with the Hurricane, no major damage. Just waiting now for some cajun music to come back to this area. I guess I might just have to start making it over your way.
