Re: Easy Rider Blues Lyrics?

Wow, I never listened to the lyrics before. Pretty hard to make out, even with the excellent sound quality, LOL. Sounds like he had been hitting the shine a little.

Here is what I think I can make out.

Tu va ride my ride, rider

Tu va ride my ride, rider, rider, rider, rider.

Woman, woman, if you ____ my ____, woman, I'm gonna let you ride.

Momma, momma, I'd rather not ride my _____

Momma, my rider, momma

Re: Re: Easy Rider Blues Lyrics?

I think this is some old blues standard, but I can't find parallel lyrics anywhere.

CC Rider, See See Rider, etc.

Thanks Bryan.

Hitting the shine? Makes Austin Pitre sound absolutely prim and sober.

Re: Re: Re: Easy Rider Blues Lyrics?

It very likely that "shine" was involved, but, sounds more like he didn't know how to speak English very well, as was the case for many people of the area in his day. It sounds very much like one of the blues songs we used to play, but, I can't remember the name. A few (very few) of the words that I remember are:

"If you see me coming, better step aside.
Well, If you see me coming, better step aside."

Dowell

Has anyone done a more current version of this song?
