hi david and all, what does Keith sing on Madeline on CC?

Hi David and all,
what is the line Keith F. sings on the Creole Connection on Madeline?
I think it's
"Oh Madeline, ca se fait du mal, Oh Madeline..?..Merrier

I like they funky way he does it and it's influenced my version. I also like the simple lyrics. Sometimes I think I like the sounds of the lyrics and how they fit into the song as an instrument, rather than the meaning, to a point.
thanks,
kirk

Kirk,

I was not able to pick up much more than you:

Oh Madeleine, ca, ca m'fait du mal
Oh Madeleine, fait du mal (???) (barrierre???)

Keith's french isn't that great, and he just punts sometimes. When I sing it, I just sing it the way I it is written in Ann Savoy's book (or maybe it was the Francois book?). I learned that version long ago, and it works just fine whether the accompaniment is Cajun, Creole or Zydeco style. It even fits with the Zydeco Force version which is really cool in the minor key.
