Congrats!

Larry, my wife wants to know how much! :) I want to take the time to thank Mr. Larry English for selling me his old POINTE NOIR accordion. Larry, I hope you are enjoying the heck out of your new box. Hey all you accordion builder wanna be's! Larry Miller's business BON TEE CAJUN was for sale as of January 1st 2006.

Re: Congrats!

Re: Gorgeous Bon Tee Larry!

she's a beauty!!!Congrats!

Re: Re: Gorgeous Bon Tee Larry!

What happened to the frogs? I was just getting used to them.

That is one hellaciously nice looking box.

Re: Gorgeous Bon Tee Larry!

key of c

replacing the point noir, which i had
made in 1996, thanks to mr
albert for making it all possible.

it really is pretty

it;s about 10 times more purple than the one
larry made for me in 1996

the light was just right when i took the
picture, winter afternoon light

i actually told larry to make the flapper
tips black, but he made them red and
it looks good

some of the other details don;t show
in this shot

specifically the inlay strip

larry doesn;t use wood any more

it;s a pearl plastic, which picks up
just a hint of the stain to make it a light
pink

and the abalone stop inlays

and the floral bellows

i like it!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Gorgeous Bon Tee Larry!

Congratulations Larry. What a beauty. What kind of wood is that? The grain and the stain...absolutely wonderful!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Gorgeous Bon Tee Larry!

The wood would be curly maple, the stain, well, really blue.

Sorry, I really love Bon Cajuns, but am I the only one who doesn't really care for primary colors on wood?

Give me natural wood tones any day.

Hal

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Gorgeous Bon Tee Larry!

Oh, hey, don't get me wrong, it's a gorgeous box. Anything made by Larry is a work of art, I just like that natural wood. For a performer the flashier look is impressive though.

Like your sound BTW.

Besides, my Bon Cajun may look like a casket, sure doesn't sound like one though. ;)

Re: Gorgeous Bon Tee Larry!

The color is Violet/Purple and different strokes for different folks. I think it's a beaut myself.

Re: Re: Gorgeous Bon Tee Larry!

wood is just your basic curly maple.

stain is called 'violet' from the wood
supply place, i forget the name..

it;s shockingly purple.

Re: Re: Re: Gorgeous Bon Tee Larry!

The picture really doesn't do justice to the accordion. I saw this instrument at Larry Miller's shop in Feb. It is gorgeous, far mor attractive than this picture shows. Enjoy!
