My brother and his wife live in Olney, MD. Is that anywhere near you? He used to live in Silver Spring and knows the area well.
Anyway, I go there once in a while, so let me know if you've ever got a gig on a weekend. If it's not too far, I can bring some folks and, maybe, an extra squeezebox.
I'm learning to play the fiddle, but sadly, I'm at the stage where people really, really wanna kill me.
Ditto on Zydeco. I'm not anti-Zydeco or anything, but I've always had a soft spot for Cajun...the hard stuff.
I hope I'm included as one of the four. Jim is right. People give me a blank stare when I mention I play (try)Cajun accordion. Everyone seems to identify Cajun culture with Popeye's. Traffic between Baltimore, Washington, and the surrounding counties is now unbearable. Just getting out to meet the four players is
exhausting. We need some down home spots for food, drink, and music without the B.S. that seems to blanket the region.
To all that have served this country and especially those that have made the ultimate sacrifice,
