Hey, thanks David!

I think that it was you that had posted the
lyrics last time!

I'll put them in a safer place this time!

Merci,

Lucille - "maipriser" "facher"?

Dave,

Re: Lucille - "maipriser" "facher"?

Here it is:

Tu m'as fait brailler = You made me cry

Tu m'as quitter pour t'en aller = You left me to go...

Tu m'as maipriser = (should be spelled "méprisé"):Can be interpreted as "You were mean to me", or "condescendant" or "scorned" - "mépris" is synonymous of "disdain"

Tu m'as fait facher (should be spelled "fâcher") = You made me mad

Getting the picture?

Oui!

La peinture devient aussi claire que le ciel azuré!

Re: Re: Re: Lucille - "maipriser" "facher"?

C'est clair comme de l'eau de roche...

I did apologize for the spelling...

I was doing the best I could off the top of my head, more or less phonetically.

By the way, how do you enter the accented characters? Some of those I knew, but I didn't know how to enter them on the keyboard.

Nick, are you playing this on a triple row or PA? If you are doing it on a triple row, and haven't learned the trick yet, the way you play it is to use the 3rd position of two adjacent rows (I use the outer two rows). Much of the playing is simple octaves.

Re: I did apologize for the spelling...

Dave,

No need to apologize! I appreciate you posting
the lyrics. I had 'em & lost 'em .. so frustrating!

For now, I'll be playing it on single-row.

But, thanks for the 3-row tip. I'll need to get
back to studying the 3-row .. it's been too long.

I think Lucille may be a good candidate for jams, which
I seem to be targeting many of lately!

The concept is now becoming "clean as a pin"! :-)

Merci!

Lucille on a single row - how does it work out?

Hi Nick,

How does it work out on a single row? I never tried it, and never needed to, given the fact that I always have the triple row to play it on. It seems like it wouldn't fit on a single row very well. For instance, I don't there would be any way to play the all-essential bridge. What position do you play it in - push, pull, or back side (i.e., 3rd position)?

-David

Re: Lucille - "maipriser" "facher"?

"Maipriser" is actually "mépriser" and means to put down, to scorn, to speak bad of. "Facher" means anger/angry.
