For anyone interested on the East Coast, August 5 will be a good place to be in Pointe-de-l'église, south-west of Nova Scotia at the Festival Acadien de Clare http://www.acadianfestivals.com/fr/eventsfr.php. There's gonna be a Fais Do-Do featuring several great bands, including Pine Leaf Boys & Steve Riley/Mamou Playboys.
This might be your excuse to come visit Nova Scotia?

Aiiiieeee--that's gonna be a good one. Last year the Basin Brothers were there,it's an outdoor show and it was a total success. Steve Riley was here a few years ago, and the band is fantastic; a full sound like his recordings. Hope to get there and get the new Steve Riley CD. I live near Halifax but grew up about 15 miles from there, and the folks are really friendly and love a good time and good music.

This is NOT a show that the pine leaf boys will be playing, that is a mistake. It will just be Blake and Cedric with Blake's dad while they are at the Universite Ste. Anne french immersion. The Pine Leaf Boys are going to be on break at that time and will play again on Aug. 19 for the CFMA Awards in Lafayette. Sorry for any confusion.

Gonna try and get there anyhow--I went last year and it was a really good time. I have to play a gig in the late afternoon near Yarmouth with my in-laws, but we're going to rush back up to Little Brook and catch as much of the show as we can.
