Re: Re: Blues de Bosco & J'ai passé devant ta porte?

Can anyone assist with lyrics to Festival Acadien Waltz?

Valse de Jamboree

Oh mes chers amis

(Teasing you a bit. That song on PLB was done previously on 2 Octa Clark cds, once called Crawfish Festival Waltz, and once Valse de Jamboree.

It might be an old tune, or Clark might be the author. In any case it was the theme song for his radio show broadcast from Lafayette Louisiana from Mrs. Webb's Jamboree Club. That information is from a Rounder release by Clark and Duhon, Ensemble Encore)

The sentiments and lyrics on Festivals Acadiens are very close, as were the Crawfish Festival Waltz played by Clark and sung by Steve Riley. I just don't have the cd handy.

Jamboree is on my Web site under Octa Clark/Hector Duhon. It's Michael Doucet on the mandolin on that selection.

Blues de Soulard lyrics anyone?

Wow, lots of nice lyrics. While we're at it, I just learned the Blues du Soulard on Steve Riley's DVD. Does anyone have the lyrics that go with it?

Re: Blues de Soulard lyrics anyone?

Blues de Soulard

Quand les blues me prend

Moi 'suis gone
moi 'suis parti m' saouler
quand 'suis saoul, bebé,
'suis gone à la maison
pour r'joindre ma chère catin

quand j'arrive à la maison,
ma 'tite femme 't'après m'q'reller,
Moi j'y'ai d'mandé pourquoi tu m'q'relles.

'A m'a réponds mon nègre,
c'est pour ça moi j't'q'relles
Toi t'es tou' l'temps parti.

I'm sure I could write out the lyrics if you send me a file of the tune, cause I don't know it
