Considering the box in question meets some of the requirements for a pre war box and a post war box as well
Example... "all steel reeds on individual plates"
"leather valeves"
but has the key stamped on the Bass strap and rivet in the thumb strap make it later.
This is confusing
The most confusing thing is the recurved or "horned" keyboard but in plastic.. that type of keyboard was always wood.
I suspect that the box is either made from prewar parts after the war.. in the 50's from a mish mash or parts.. or the box has been repaired and rebuilt with replacment components.. hard to tell without seeing the accordion.
What is the color of the "paper foil" on the base endplate, color of the grill, color of the bellows and number of folds. No doubt the typical gold red and silver. Also the gauze ounder the grille changed over the years from a very tight woven cloth to a very loose weave.
As to the Hohner typically wet tuning, I would not retune it. Enjoy what thousands of players atround the world over decades ahve enjoyed. Lots of good music in these old Honer HA models..
I really like my 2 stopper in "A" from the 50's. Loud, fast and light.
The paper foil is silver, the grille is gold with black and silver cloth behind it, I can't really tell about the weave without seeing the two to compare. There are 16 folds on the bellows, which is silver, red, and gold. It's probably a '50s box and may have been repaired. I took the grille off and painted the outside of the valves red. It was given to me by a friend from St. George's Newfoundland. Newfoundlanders usually use the Hohner Erica or Corso double row accordions, once in a while you'll see a Corona or a few Italian 3-row accordions.
I don;t know how to post photos on this forum, i don't have a website.
