Re: ACADIAN on eBay.

I only see a Falcon, which I would NOT buy on Ebay.

Re: Re: ACADIAN on eBay.

Actually I think the falcon on ebay is probably Glenn Alessi's
accordion. Since the seller is in Parma italy..where Glenn
lives. I bought my triple row baffetti from Glenn and am
happy with it. So I wouldn't hesitate to consider it. Mark

Why not?

Nick,

Why not buy the Falcon on Ebay? I think it offered by our own Glenn A., who is a totally straight up guy.

Perplexed,

off thread to David RE Lucille

I noticed a subject you were discussing a few days ago and I didn't get in on the thread...barging in here.

If I don't use the Piano note accordion for Lucille I play it in the F position on the C. The bridge is perfectly "doable" in that position. There are some double notes that I can't get in the F position like C-A and C-F (because C's are all push and F&A are pull notes)...they are easy on the piano note keyboard...but still, if you have to do Lucille on a single row, F is the way to go.

Of course a lot of guys here do it in G a la Belton Richard...but he doesn't do that bridge part you are talking about.

Re: off thread to David RE Lucille

Hi Chris!

I am still sorry we never got a chance to meet and talk at Isleton a couple years back.

After I posted my question about Lucille on the single row, I went home and tried it, and I was able to get most of it working OK. Like you say, I used the third position (in my case Eb on a Bb box). I ran out of time before I was able to try the bridge, and I want to try that again. When I play the bridge on the triple row, it relies a great deal on going across the rows, and it still seems to me that something would be lost, but maybe not.

Talk to you later!

Re: Re: off thread to David RE Lucille

You just have to push and pull more...all the notes are there on the single row. I know how to do it on a triple row and that lick is mostly all on the pull...on the single row you play 5' 6' 6-7 6-7 6-7 6' 5' 6-7 etc. Of course it is choppier sounding on a single row with those bellow reversals so it is not like crossing the rows all on the pull. But I pull my wet stop up and stop the treble reeds and use the internal mic...you would be surprised at how close you can get it to sound like a triple row...you just have to work harder with the bellows.

Re: ACADIAN on eBay.

I can't locate it: Can you copy the reference number or the link?

Falcon .. on ebay

Yes.. that is my Falcon on eBay.. and I listed it here below on a posting mentioning listing some of my boxes...

it is a mint condition/ never played / new / Falcon. I have two C boxes and have to part with one. Will probably commission another in a different key.

This is the real deal and I back anything I sell, no BS.. happy to take returns if not as described.

Glenn : ) ( I have nearly 300 positive feedbacks )

Re: Falcon .. on ebay

Well,

I didn't know the seller had a lot of positive feedback. What I meant, was that I wouldn't buy a high-dollar instrument from Ebay, particularly a Falcon, which I would prefer to order myself from the builder.

However, don't let that stand in the way...if ya want it, git it.
