hey roland and others

Hey happy fathers day to all the fathers on here especially the ones that actually get to see there kids. But anyways. Good luck roland. Let me know how ya turn out.

Fathers Day should be every day just like Mothers Day!

Aaron Chesson, this is your Mother, speaking to you now-why do you want to get on here and post something like that for all theese people to read.Me and your Dad, are helping your wife raise your little girl-while you are living with another and expecting another child-how sad you don't support the one you have how you gonna take care of an illegale* one.And you can go all over and play gigs-but you can't come see this little girl that cries for you.Because Billie, won't let you-you know you are welcome here any time to see your daughter.by the way Happy Fathers Day.But qit lying and saying you cannot see her. Most people on here know that is the fatherest from the truth.

Re: Happy Father's Day and more importantly:

Yes, a very Happy Father's Day to all.
If your dad is still with you , go play him a tune or play
one toghter. it's be a Father;s Day you will not forget.

Re: Re: Happy Father's Day and more importantly:

Very well said, you better appreciate them while you have them.I know one Dad, that would love to hear his son play him a tune on Fathers' day.Thats not asking for much-just a few memories. But Happy Fathers Day to all who believe in family.

Re: Re: Happy Father's Day and more importantly:

Amen to everything said above...my father was born in
1909 in Kentucky and played anything with strings - fiddle,
guitar, banjo, etc. Growing up, he tried to get me to
play guitar with him, but I thought that "hillbilly music" was
"square" - it wasn't until after I left home and got
into bluegrass that I appreciated his talent and the
old timey tunes he loved to play. After I got out of
the service, I came home with the idea of actually sitting
down and playing music with him. During my five year
absence, his arthritis got so bad he couldn't play the guitar.
To this day, its one of the biggest regrets
I have ever had...not being able to play with my father.

Re: Re: Re: Happy Father's Day and more importantly:

If you can not be with your Fathers in person, there is always the phone. If you are a musician, tell him to sit back with the receiver up to his ear and play him a tune. As Justin Wilson used to say, "I Guarantee", it Will bring a smile to his face and maybe even moisture to his eyes.

Re: Re: Happy Father's Day and more importantly:

I can second that. I live in Upstate New York, and my dad retired to Ft. Worth, Texas. A month before he died and only 2.5 years into my attempts at accordion playing I visited him in Ft. Worth and passionately hollered some badly-pronounced Cajun French over some roughly-played Ariette noise. But something about the critical work-a-holic retired Colonel dad softened up in that moment and he said "I think I understand this thing with you and music now".

So yes...share what's precious to you with the ones you love, even if it's not an easy relationship!

Re: Re: Re: Happy Father's Day and more importantly:

yes, play music for your mom and dad!! my mom passed this year after a long spiral down with alzheimer's disease. for the last 2 months of her life, my dad said that every morning she would ask to have our cd played while she sat on the porch and stared off into space.
at her memorial service, my partner and i played sad Cajun waltzes. i know that is how she would want to be honored, friends and family gathered around along with the music that touched her.
something about this music captures the intensity and depth of human emotion.
