Re: Lyrics for Valse de Platin?

Here is Horace Trahan's version from the liner notes. Awfully small print and squinting eyes, hope I copied it right.

Rappelle toi, tite fille, les paroles tu m'as dit.
Tu m'as dit, chere, toi tu m'aimais aujourd'hui.
Aujourd'hui, tite fille, t'es apres me quitter.
Prepare-toi, chere, viens me rejoindre a la maison.
J'su moi tout seul, apres esperer,
Que tu t'en reviens, chere bebe.
Comment ça se fait que tu peux me faire tous ces accroires.
Rappelle toi, tit fille, les promesses que tu m'as fait.
Tu m'as dit, chere, que toi tu m'aimais, bebe.
Comment ça se fait que tu fais ça ça t'apres me faire.
T'as ecouté, chere, les conseils de ta famille.
C'est pour ça aujourd'hui, on est separé bebe.
Prepare toi, viens me rejoindre a la maison.

Merci mon ami! :-)

Re: Lyrics for Valse de Platin?

Hi Maz,
I was starting to learn this tune from the Trahan CD and then went with Ray Abshire's tune on his CD with the liner notes, Chere Bebe Creole. As far as I can tell it's pretty much the same tune. Same progression and all. Then a friend gave me lyrics that are even easier then evidently Canray Fontenot sang.
You gotta love the liner notes that match the singing. Makes it great to learn the French for guys like me that have no history of hearing or speaking French. French teachers just get FRUSTRATED trying to figure out what LA singers are saying, and try to tell me what they are supposed to be saying. ha ha.
BTW, Maz, did you gig at Wheatland Spring Dance camp some years ago? I thought I recalled your band being there.

Re: Re: Lyrics for Valse de Platin?

Hi Kirk,
Thanks for the info about the two songs. Regarding the gig at Wheatland Spring Dance camp, it wasn't me.
The only camp I've attended was Balfa last April.
I live in Nova Scotia Canada, so any of these camps are not always easily accessible.
Ciao for now..Maz....:-)

Re: Lyrics for Valse de Platin?

Maz...while i was on deployment i had plenty of spare time on my hands (i was bored out of my mind lol)...so i transcribed the whole ossun blues cd from the liner notes...i'll be posting it on my lyrics forum within a couple days...i got tired of trying to read the microscopic words on the notes :)

Re: Re: Lyrics for Valse de Platin?

Great, thank you Chad. Let me know when it's up with the link.
You're in the service? Where were you deployed?
Maz
