Re: need lyrics Choupique

Here you are:

Choupique Two-Step
(re : Savoy Family Band; Jude Moreau)

I believe this version is from the Ann Savoy book of songs.
Hope it helps...:-)

Re: need lyrics Choupique

On the CD you’re talking about, Wilson Savoy sings this :

Oh, jolie catin,
Jolie, tu me fais du mal,
Mais dis pas, jolie catin,
Je vas brailler pour toi.
Oh, joli p’tit monde,
Quoi faire tu fais tout ça ?
Tu m’abandonnes, tu m’as quitté,
Quoi faire tu me fais tout ça ?

Oh, bonsoir catin,
Trois jours que je suis parti,
Je suis parti pour m’en aller
A Grand Choupique, catin,
Oh, c’est pour voir,
C’est pour voir les petites,
C’est pour voir les jolies petites,
Jolies petites et petites blondes.

My jam group is working on Chopique using the track from The Savoy Family Band Cajun Album CD. The lyrics we were able to get don't match the lyrics on the CD and appear not to have the right number of phrases in them (I dont't know where they are from.) Need some help here.
Thanks Leslie

Re: Re: lyrics (a few more)

Speaking of lyrics, check out the website above. You will find 18 songs carefully transcribed, with the references of the recordings.

You guys seen this one yet?

Good deal of lyrics there.

Re: Re: Re: lyrics (a few more)

Merci Christian, j'ai jamais vu le site là.

Thanks for all the help. I have Ann Savoy's book and CD liners but it is nice to know that there is a group of people out there to fill in the gaps. Merci!
