Re: Acadian Day -Fète de l'Acadie

And many thanks to all of you out there helping keep it alive and in fact, prospering, in and out of Acadiana.

Re: Re: Acadian Day -Fête de l'Acadie

Bonne Fête à tous les Acadiens & Cajuns & leurs amis!

We are being greeted by the mayor of Halifax this afternoon, after which time we'll be raising the Acadian flag at the Grand Parade & sing the Ave Mari Stella (Acadian national anthem), then do a tintamarre (noise parade)- if it doesn't rain, and end up at the Ginger's Tavern for some partying and enjoy Weldon Boudreau's music (Acadien Driftwood). I've been invited to play a few songs in between.

Ça va être un Grou Tyme! :-)

Re: Re: Acadian Day -Fète de l'Acadie

Today and tonight there's a party in Lafontaine Parc, here in Montréal (something like Girouard), called the "Tintamarre Acadien". There's music provided tonight at the theatre by our band "Grouyan Gombo". There's a show of art by Pauline Bujold from Caraquet, N.B. in the chalet du parc. Warren Perrin ron Erath, passing through here will address the people. It,s organised by Véra Petly from Cap Pelé, N.B. Vive l'Acadie et l'Acadiana!
