Re: Re: Re: "blues de bosco" lyrics? english meaning?

hey kirk......

my version is heavily influenced by the rayne-bo ramblers, circa 1937........our music is mostly fiddle based (although i love playing this one with jesse lege) so you will find this recording to be "sans accordion"....it's on a cd put out by the country music foundation, there are a number of volumes, this one is vol3. would be happy to send a copy to you if you don't have any luck finding it......email me if you want me to send along.....
it's actually from an old jimmy rodgers tune......

roger

I've got the world in a jug and the cork in the other hand
My wife is gone and my little calf is dying of hunger.

If you see me walking along the railroad track
It is me looking for oats for my little calf.

Now your house is burned, your wife is not at home,
She left last nite to come home with me

balle du foin--bale of hay

Just thought I would clarify that...no oats for that calf.

Re: balle du foin--bale of hay

thanks chris,
i stand corrected!

Re: Re: Re: "blues de bosco" lyrics? english meaning?

"l'autre" is "the other"

"jogue" is "jug", as in whiskey jug

"bouchon" is "stopper"

Rough translation, "I got the world in a bottle and the stopper in the other hand"

Re: "blues de bosco" lyrics? no google help here.....

Kirk, here's the version I have of Bosco. It is from the Pine Leaf Boys CD. Good luck with it. It is a great song!

Blues de Bosco
(re: Pine Leaf Boys)
