A few days ago a Magnolia in D was on eBay. I bid but did not win. After the close of the auction I got a 2nd chance notice to buy the accordion for my bid, whic was about 70% of the final price. I contacted eBay as things that seem too good to be true often aren't. It was a fraud. Nothing lost and a lesson learned.

Good point. All second offers sould arrive and be listed on your list of "eBay messages" on your "My eBay" section, not just a private email, otherwise they can be considered false.

Is it this seller or is it others trying to cheat, then?

there are emails circulating to "update" your info for ebay as well as a seperate one for paypal, so beware also.
