I'm looking for songs that in your collective experience actually work within the limited parmameters of the Cajun accordion (single row diatonic). I'm thinking Carter Family to Gram Parsons. Traditional Country and Country Blues are the styles I'm looking at. I'm trying to save myself hours of hunting and pecking. Thanks.

One country song that I have adapted to cajun style is
"Silver Threads & Golden Needles"....can play it moderately
fast as 2 step or as waltz...in key of G.
Joe Falcon used to play East Virginia Blues (Catahoula Stomp), Going Down the Road Feeling Bad (J'Suis Parti Sus le Grand Chemin Tres Dissatisfe), Careless Love (L'Amour Indifferent), Just Because (Juste Parce Que), and Jimmie Rodgers tunes (Raise Your Window High). You could probably produce a whole series of songs based on Jimmie Rodgers melodies.
