Re: Fiddler for Ambrose Thibodeaux

I would have to look on my album at home to be positive, but I think it is Merlin Fontenot, who I think was his son-in-law. I also think Ambrose played triangle on Merlin's record.

Re: Re: Fiddler for Ambrose Thibodeaux

Thanks Chris. I now remember asking this earlier in the year, but when I searched, I couldn't access the post with the info, only later ones.

Merlin Fontenot on 3 albums, Leon Doucet on another

The yellow album has Leon Doucet on fiddle. That's the one with Lacassine Special, Two Step du Musicien, Two Step de Platin, Pauvre Hobo, and Long Point Two Step, etc. on it (a very good album!)

The rest have Merlin Fontenot. Shows his versatility!

Re: Merlin Fontenot on 3 albums, Leon Doucet on another

Are you sure that wasn't supposed to be Leonce Doucet? He was a good fiddler from Church Point known as Tit Gamme (Little Rooster). He died some time ago. I'm just curious, not trying to call you out or anything.
