Glen :
When I was at Lake Fausse cajun camp a few years ago, Jimmy Breaux was our main instructor, and he played on an acadiana all weekend. Don't know if that's the one he uses for his recordings, or even if he plays that one on stage still. Folks who went to the Festival Acadien last week must have noticed if he still plays on his acadiana.
Is the owner of this accordion on this forum? The location is listed as Hendersonville NC, about 30 miles from where I live-Greenville SC. If they are on this forum, please contact me as I would like to have someone to jam with.
Acadiana is Jimmy Breaux's accordion of choice. He currently has one in key of C. He also carries a red accordion in the key of D but it is not an Acadiana.
He has stated if he ever buys another it will be an Acadiana. I have a Crown which both Jimmy and Jr. Martin say sounds good, but it does not seem to have the "brightness" in the sound like an Acadiana. I will go to Leland for my next one. I plan to get a black box with white bellows in the key of D.
We have an old Accordion and the only thing we can find on it is Leland. Would this be a Acadiana accordions? If not does anyone know any history on the Leland Accordions?
