Really cool recording effect

Hey guys, I just did a few recordings and used goldwave to make them sound really old. I did this by using the "Lowpass" effect and setting the frequency at 3000. The lower the frequency, the older it sounds.

Check out the links

That old G Hohner really helps the old effect too

Re: Really cool recording effect

Jim,

If you ever do a full recording, it might be cool to begin a song like this -- for a few seconds -- before the sound erupts into a big modern sound.

Come to think of it, since I'm recording soon, how exactly did you do this?

Best,

Nick B

Nick

I basically started out with a recording I made on my computer and altered it with and old version of Goldwave.

I simply went to "effects" then "filter" then low/highpass. I then set the Initial Cutoff (Hz) to 3000 and then I set "steepness" to 10.

Keep in mind this version of Goldwave is a couple years old. You can download this program for free off the web, at least the last time I checked.

Cheers
