The left hand

Regarding playing Cajun music:

Do you play the left hand on your accordion?

Yes, always? ...or.....
Sometimes? and if so, when? (amplified vs. acoustic; if playing
with a bass and/or guitar, etc) ...or....
No, not at all?

I've seen postings about how to learn left-hand technique, but I'd
like to hear whether and when you play those bass and chord buttons.
