Re: Re: Re:How bout those Boozoo Bb's?

Lucky for me, me wife bought me a Rosie Ledet CD( nows the time) that seems to be all Bb...my ear anyway.

==probably is, if it;s old
she tends to use an A more now
which would put those tunes in E

I have quite a few Boozoo CD's but would like some help on some songs folks know are in Bb. ??

--everything on the "live at habibi temple"
that he plays on single row, is in F
played on Bb

but if you look at the sheet music for Hey Gino it appears to say the tune is in F but when I pay my C box along with Gino's CD it seems to be correct.. I understand there is a F position on the C but I sure done know it.

==hey geno is in F but played in a C box
that is a very hard tune to play

Im playing Hey Gino down with the first F button/pull.

==that;s right for the geno tune

So is Boozoo playing a Bb and Gina a C both playing an F tune? OK so yes, then how would you play LuLu on a C box ?

==lula won;t come out sounding right
on a c box

==hey geno will - if you can play it
right...

==wle.

I got one for you.

If you are looking for an excellent quality C accordion. I do have one I am selling.

It is a Jr Martin made in 1997.
I am selling it for it's origial owner that special ordered it new from Jr Martin directly.

Only problem was he only took it out of the box about ten times and never learned to play it. I already have two C boxes (and more accordions that fingers to play them :)

It is a beautiful deep red color and I believe it is rosewood. (No I don't know if it is ILLEGAL Brazilian, rosewood :) When you open the case you can still smell this sweet aromatic aroma of the wood.

The Accordion is in pristine condition. It has both the optional wood inlay and the option $200 crawdad on the bellows. It comes with the case.

Ask some folks on this forum, the late 90's was a very good time for Martin accordions. So if you want a "new" vintage accordion. Please let me know. I believe this accordion, if ordered today would be $1800 from Martin's shop, and you need to wait a few months to get it. He just wants $1400 to get his money back.

Feel free to email with questions or if you want to hear it over the phone or something.

Re: I got one for you.

I'm going to get with you on that Martin in a little while, the wife is looking over my shoulder. Wait for me on this please. Thanks

Re: Re: I got one for you.

Ok she's asleep now A couple concerns here, anyone feel free to chime in, one is I've done 200 transactions on Ebay mainly for sax stuff with 100% feedback but never an outside transaction. Is there a way to do a deal that protects both buyer and seller. Any experience with C.O.D, do they even do that anymore, I have Pay Pal that can protect the buyer but if the other person doesn't have it then what....is there an Escrow service....does anyone want to give me a plane ticket to the sellers town? Check your email from bodhi8 at gmail dot com Sorry if this ends up being a double post can't find the one I thought I sent.

Honest upright guy.

OK,

Re: Honest upright guy.

DP, I just found you and your bands website, please excuse me for not knowing who you are........

Re: web site

No excuses needed!
(that's actually dated material)

All I will say right now is that
The new band will stay under wraps until the CD comes out. :)

Re: I got one for you.

That accordion, if it comes with the crawfish. shoulder strap, case, etc.. brand new now goes for $US 2,300. I bought one identical to that one in 2001 for $US 1,800. With the de-valuing of the american dollar in the past few years, Jr. has raised his price $ 500, as have many of the other box makers. If this box is in pristine shape, $ 1,400 is a steal. I would consider it myself, simply as an investment.

JL

hope it comes in hands of devoted player

Very beautiful, DP

I really hope it comes in hands of someone who deserves it, if you understand what I mean

Je comprends

Re: A work of art needs to do heard

Yes, Thank you.
I completely understand what you mean.

It may be a beautiful piece of woodworking, but it needs to be played.

Like a work of art, it creates little joy if stored in a vault where it cannot be seen!

Re: I got one for you.

That does indeed look like a fine accordion, but just to let you know, based on the photo, the wood is maple not rosewood.
Steve

Re: Maple

I guess your accessment to conclude it to be Maple is by the grain? vs the idea that it could be Belize Rosewood?

Re: Wood grain

My first thought was that it was maple from the grain. (but I am not a wood expert at all) I do not in any way want to misrepresent this accordion.

The friend for which I am selling it swears it is rosewood, and the unstained parts do have a deeper color than maple I have seen.

I asked him to find the original recept, but he is not sure he can find it. I contacted Jr Martin about it, and Jr. can't verify the wood type from his records either. (well, it was 10 years ago)

I know a local guy that runs a fine woodshop.
I will see if I can bring it to him and solve the mystery.

Aaaaaaaahyieeeeeeeeee I bought it

Thanks for everyones advice on getting my first Cajun Accordion. I must be living right. Even when I went to the barns to attend to a couple of the horses this morning everything went smooth, can't wait to play that Beautiful accordion for them.......they'll either love it or stampede away!!

Re: Aaaaaaaahyieeeeeeeeee I bought it

Wow, that one didn't last long. I'm a little jealous. Good luck with it, and I'm sure the horses'll like it just fine
Steve

Re: Aaaaaaaahyieeeeeeeeee I bought it

Bodhi, congrats on a buying a beautiful accordion....you will NOT regret paying $1400 for it...last year i found a pristine martin on ebay and thats what i paid for it..same exact accordion as yours except mine has the clear curley maple finish instead of the red stain.....i certain that yours is curley maple also.

Thanks

Steve, Mark, Chad,

I appreciate the good words. I'm sure I'll be around the fourm ask I dive into this new venture.
