Re: Re: Re: My New D Accordion by Jude Moreau

Thank You, Thank you, Thank you Ed T .

Stop teasing me, God , twice in a day, my poor old craftsman heart can hardly take it .

In such glorious colors, with just the right shadings.

This accordion, doesn't look like a box, more like an old fashion oldie, beautifully preserved and revered, ready to play these mornfull and magnificient, old Cajun waltzes.

I mean , I wouldn't play Zydeco with it, Sacrilege.

Ha, aren't they beautifull , eh, D and D ? and Jay and Larry .

Anyways, feast your eyes, enjoy, you might never see them again!!!!!!.

And don't forget, they are there for the asking, although, you shouldn't really asked for them!.

Dont be shy, tell them old Claudie send you.

K.K. " Preacher of a lost Art ".

Open letter to Larry, Jay, and all the LA accordion builders.

First, nice going Jude!,

Great contrast on your end plates of the curly wood, very elegant.

Second, hopefully, Jay in his new role , taking over from Larry, might do the "infamous" mittered corners, even if it's on request.

C'mon admit it, aren't they elegant and beautifull and necessary, and you shouldn't be charged extra more for them, and then the Gods of all the Luthiers and the Traditionalists and the Lovers of refined products the world over will rejoice.

C'mon , just for the sake of tradition, ask him,ask them, insist, demand, ask for them, you deserve the best.

The Mitters are there for the "ASKING"

While your'e at it ask them also "WHY" they do not make mitters and others do.

Fair question, isn't?

OK, I'll let in a secret: some accordion builders in LA,not all mind you, get Jobbers to build different parts of their accordions, and then assemble the boxes using these parts.

Now you might get an argument from theses guys, but I wouuld think that in the name of tradition they should ask their suppliers to make some adjustments in their production methods.

Trust me, it will not interfere with their prodution speed.

Monarch and Sterlings sported ( and RIGHTHLY so)on both their end face plates mittered corners, so should "ALL" the modern LA built accordions .
It's not that the accordion will sound better, it's just that it will look " CORRECT" in it's construction, and that's what " Hand made proudly in LA " should mean.

Thanks LARRY an JAY.

Thanks Jude.

Claude.
